Coaches

Jamie Platt, Head Coach

Coach Jamie has been involved in the swimming world for 20 years. She started swimming in the Tri-County League in Southern New Jersey, while also swimming for CCY, then BCY. In High school, she swam for Cherry Hill East as a Lady Cougar. She attended Susquehanna University on scholarship, and swam for the Crusaders until a career ending injury her sophomore year. She stayed on as a Team Manager, which gave her Assistant Coach experience at the collegiate level for two years. All throughout college she was coming home and coaching in the summers, the bulk of her time at Woodstream Swim Club in Marlton. After graduating with her degree in Psychology, Juniata College was in need of an Assistant Women’s Swimming Coach so she relocated and coached their sprinters for a season before homesickness brought her back to New Jersey. Currently she works at Rosa International Middle School as a Special Educational Assistant in the 6th grade, and is excited for her first season as the Head Swimming Coach at Sunnybrook Swim Club.

Rory Watkins, Assistant Coach

Coach Rory started swimming Barclay Farm Swim Club when he was 7 years old and continued to swim there until he graduated high school at age 18. Over the course of these 11 years, he swam competitively not only for Barclay, but also for the Camden County YMCA and also for the Cherry Hill West Lions where he was part of a state finalist team in 2008. He recently graduated from Rutgers University-New Brunswick with a degree in History and a minor in Secondary Education. He currently is a substitute teacher in the Cherry Hill Public School District and is also part of the coaching staff for the YBCC Phoenix in Mt. Laurel. He enjoys working with kids and helping them achieve their goals.

David Rowe, Assistant Coach

Coach David grew up in the Cherry Hill swimming community. David has 14 years of competitive swimming experience ranging from Cherry Bowl and tri-county to High School State Championships and Big East Championships in the NCAA. David has been giving private swim lessons for the past 3 years and coaching for a year. He absolutely loves seeing a swimmer, not only grow competitively, but also as an individual.
